starting at 7.00pm in Stillington Village Hall.
Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting
and raise any issues with the Councillors that
 they may be able to help with.

Welcome to Stillington and Whitton


The Parish of Stillington and Whitton is situated in the Borough of

Stockton-on-Tees in North East England. It is a rural community with a population of around 1600 people.


Stillington has a relatively large number of local services including a primary school, C of E Church, GP Surgery, shop and post office, garage,  fitness classes, a few take-away food outlets, a Village Hall, an on demand bus service that serves a variety of locations and a small industrial estate. 

 

Stillington and Whitton Parish Council holds monthly meetings (except August), usually on the first Tuesday.  Meetings are normally held in Stillington Village Hall and start at 7.00pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and can address the Council at the start of the meeting. 


Local Industry

Stillington has a small but flourishing industrial estate.  The main firms are Darchem Engineering (Esterline) and Clarkes of Stillington Ltd. New firms are welcome to the area. There are some small industrial units currently available for rent.



Housing


There are approximately 600 residences in the Parish. In Stillington there is a range of housing which dates from Victorian times, many houses are post-war. About 100 houses were added in the 1990's, an estate of just over 50 new houses was built in 2008/09 (Forest Park), Victory Gardens and Greenfield View (36 houses) were completed in 2019 and The Meadows development of 55 houses was completed in 2023. Eastfield Gardens, a development of 11 houses and Cobb Lane, a development of 5 houses, are currently underway in Whitton.


As well as the main village the Parish contains two hamlets - Old Stillington and Whitton - and a scattering of farms.
